Taylor Rooks is in the spotlight as she discusses the lives on and off the court of your favorite athletes day in and day out. However, back in July, the spotlight was all on her when she -- without warning, may we add -- did one of the best hard launches Instagram has seen when she posted her wedding photos.
Prior to posting the photos, the public was not aware of her relationship status with her now-husband, Shane Fowler. She told Angela Yee back in March 2024 that she was "spoken for" but didn't go into specifics.
The post immediately went viral with fans sharing their well-wishes to the couple. While she remains to keep her relationship private from her public-facing job, she is now letting fans in on how magical her wedding day was.
“Every cliché they tell you about weddings is true,” Rooks told Us Weekly. “I’m not a big cliché person, but it literally is the best night of your life. People used to ask, ‘What is your best day?’ I was like, ‘I don’t know.’ I now have an answer.”
If you think back to some of the best times of your life, they too seem to be going in 50x the speed, and in the case of Rooks' wedding, she agrees.
“It goes by way too fast,” Rooks said of her wedding day. “You blink and the night is over, and you don’t want it to be over.”
She added, “It’s just so trippy to see your worlds collide. People having a conversation that you just never thought would be having a conversation. Your worlds are meshing and seeing all the people you love in one room is crazy. It was a truly magical, magical night. I feel very lucky, very happy. This is absolutely my favorite year of my life.”
Rooks' wedding has star-studded appearances from athletes Kevin Durant, Donovan Mitchell, Draymond Green, and rapper Jack Harlow.
Why did Taylor Rooks decide to keep her wedding private?
After the wedding on July 19, Rooks spoke with GQ and shared that while she decided to keep her wedding day close to her and not for public consumption.
"I’m an incredibly private person because it’s important to have a life that belongs to you,” Rooks told the outlet. "Our relationship belongs to us. Our love belongs to us, so it’s only right that the moment belonged to us."
She gushed about her husband, telling the outlet that he is "so perfect it's hard to believe he's real."
