Rudy Gobert's ex is getting vulnerable about "betrayal."
The Minnesota Timberwolves star was previously in a relationship with Julia Bonilla, and they share a son together. Bonilla is pregnant with their second child, but they have not been in a romantic relationship since May.
Recently, Bonilla made headlines for the cryptic message she posted in an Instagram caption where she is holding her growing belly bump in a zebra-print bikini on the beach. In the caption, she talks about "betrayal" and being "tested."
"You were wanted. You were chosen. You were meant to be," she begans addressing her unborn child with Gobert.
"I was tested in every way a woman can be tested and still, I chose love," she continued. "You are proof that even after betrayal, after storms, after pain, life can still grow in light. No matter how dark the world tries to be, no matter the lies, the cowardice, no matter how much they tried to break me, you’ll always have a mother who stands unshaken and will protect you forever.
Fans noticed that as Bonilla concluded the post, she did not mention Gobert.
"Because at the end, it’s always gonna be us, you, your brother, and me. Always and forever," she wrote.
Fans praised her in the comments with one writing, "a solid mother is the fondation of a household."
While Bonilla didn't mention Gobert in the caption, another fan directly called the NBA star out, "Rudy better Step Up!"
What has Rudy Gobert said amid their split?
Gobert spoke out amid their breakup, clearing up "inaccurate information" spreading about he details of their split. TMZ reported that the Timberwolves star told Bonilla to move out of his home with their 1-year-old son, Romeo, around the time that the NBA playoffs began in April.
Gobert denied those allegations and in a screenshot per PEOPLE, he shared that he and Bonilla were no longer together.
“Julie and I are currently in the painful process of redefining our coparenting relationship,” he wrote.
He shared how being a father is very important to him and is asking fans to respect him and Bonilla while they make a transition in their relationship.
"Being a father is one of the most profound and meaningful [experiences] I will get to live. It is one of my most important life purposes and will be so forever. I’m fully committed to keep supporting the well-being of all the people that I care about," he continued.
“I’m asking everyone to please refrain from speculating and to respect our privacy in these difficult times," he concluded.
Gobert has not spoken out about their second child at this time.
