Patrick Mahomes, New Heights and more react to Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift engagement news image

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and popstar Taylor Swift sent the internet ablaze when they announced their engagement on Tuesday afternoon. 

Shortly after the couple dropped the exciting news on Tuesday, August 26, it seemed like the entire world hopped on social media to celebrate the milestone step in the duo's relationship. 

Kelce's teammate, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, 29, was one of the first to congratulate the happy couple, by sharing an engagement picture of the pair with three red-heart emojis on Instagram. Patrick's wife, Brittany Mahomes, also dropped a sweet reaction on Instagram on Tuesday afternoon. 

 "Two of the most genuine people meet & fall in love. Just so happy for these two," Brittany wrote. 

The "New Heights" podcast's official Instagram account, along with WNBA star Caitlin Clark, and Kobe Bryant's daughter, Natalia Bryant, also included a nod to the soon-to-be Mr. and Mrs. Kelce on social media on Tuesday. 

One of the best reactions came from the NFL player's racehorse, Swift Delivery, whom he purchased in August 2024. Shortly after the news dropped, America's Best Racing shared a sweet video of Swift Delivery, issuing a congrats to his famous "parents" on social media. 

The Instagram post was captioned, "Will walk down the aisle for peppermints (and @taylorswift + @killatrav.)" 

A text overly on the adorable video read, "Told Swift Delivery his parents got engaged and this was his reaction... HE would make a pretty cute flower boy." 

The Chiefs also sent a heartfelt message to the couple, writing on Instagram, "Today is a fairtytale. Congrats to Travis and Taylor-we're excited to have you as a permanant member of the Chiefs Kingdom family!" 

Several famous faces were quick to comment on the NFL team's post, including Patrick Mahomes' mother, Randi Mahomes, who wrote, "So happy for them."

Chiefs owner Clark Kent's wife, Tavia Hunt, also dropped a sweet comment, writing, "From friendship bracelets to FOREVER!❤️💍Congratulations!!🎉"

Kelce and Swift's engagement announcement gave fans an inside look at the proposal which took place in a garden filled with colorful flowers. 

"Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨,” the couple wrote in a joint post via Instagram. 

The post included a carousel of photos from the special day, including one snap that showed the Kansas City Chiefs tight end down on bended knee. 

Another picture showed off Swift's massive new engagement ring perched perfectly on her ring finger.
