Magic Johnson celebrated his 66th birthday with his wife of 24 years, Cookie, by his side over the weekend.

The 12-time NBA All-Star seems to be living his life to the fullest, ever since he retired from the Los Angeles Lakers.

On Saturday, August 16, Johnson shared a carousel of photos on Instagram, giving fans an inside look at how he spent his special day.

He captioned the post, "Cookie curated a great birthday dinner with some of our closest friends for me last night at Spago. The world famous chef and entrepreneur Wolfgang Puck was there to greet us and welcome us to his restaurant."

"The meal was just outstanding and I had so much fun on my birthday! I want to thank my beautiful and lovely wife Cookie for making my 66th birthday special," Johnson continued.

In one photo, Johnson was all smiles wearing a white suit, with a black pocket square, as he sat in front of a white birthday cake with a large "66" placed on the top.

The retired Lakers star's wife sat beside him, in a long white and purple sheath dress.

A second photo featured the happy couple posing alongside celebrity chef, Wolfgang Puck.

Inside Magic Johnson's family reunion

Johnson's birthday celebration comes on the heels of a massive family reunion celebration for the former Lakers star in Michigan.

Last week, he shared several pictures on Instagram, alongside family members who traveled from across the country to celebrate their family roots.

"Thank you to all my family from across the country for coming to the family reunion and to celebrate my mother," the 66-year-old captioned the post.

During the event, Johnson and his family also celebrate his mother's milestone 90th birthday.
