Jennifer Lopez is getting real about rumors as to why her relationship and engagement with Alex Rodriguez ended.

Lopez and Rodriguez started dating in 2017 and ended their engagement in 2021. It was rumored that their relationship ended due to an alleged DM exchange between the former Yankees shortstop/third baseman and a Madison LeCroy.

The "On The Floor" singer was asked during the “Plead The Fifth”segment on Wednesday night’s (Oct. 15) episode of “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” when he asked J.Lo if the scandal had anything to do with the breakup.

“The Bravoverse will kill me if I do not ask this next question,” Cohen said. “It came up at a Southern Charm reunion a few years ago…that your ex A-rod was DMing one of the castmembers.”

After a pause, Lopez smiled and responded, “You know, I really have nothing to say about my personal life anymore."

“I feel like I’m done with that,” she added with a laugh.

Why did Alex Rodriguez and Jennifer Lopez split?

Their relationship seemed to be smooth sailing as over the four years they were a couple, they combined their lives by frequenting Hollywood events together, such as multiple Met Galas, the Oscars, and even the Super Bowl. They also came together to blend their families. The singer shares two children with ex Marc Anthony: twins Emme and Max. Rodriguez shares daughters Natasha and Ella with his ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis.

Everything took a turn in 2021 with the alleged cheating allegations involving the Yankee icon and the Southern Charm reality show star. While there is no reported evidence that the two ever hung out, ARod was accused of talking to LeCroy.

She denied the cheating allegations and told Page Six at the time that Rodriguez “never physically cheated on his fiancée with me.”

The Southern Charm star shared that they have “spoken on the phone” and that they “never been physical … never had any kind of anything. Just an acquaintance.”

The scandal was only one part of the reason the potential breakup between the two occurred, as trust was an indicating factor. According to People, a close friend of the singer said it was bound to happen anyway.

“She insisted on it. There are are too many issues that are unresolved,” J.Lo’s friend told the outlet. “She has been pretty miserable and didn’t think it was in her best interests to stay with Alex.”

Despite anything that went on behind the scenes between LeCroy and Rodriguez, Lopez and the baseball star ended their relationship.

“We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so," the former couple shared in a joint statement on the Today show at the time. "We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects. We wish the best for each other and one another’s children. Out of respect for them, the only other comment we have to say is thank you to everyone who has sent kind words and support.”

Lopez moved on to her ex Ben Affleck. The two tied the knot in 2022, but later ended their relationship, with their divorce being finalized in 2025.

As for Rodriguez, he found love again with his girlfriend Jaclyn Cordeiro, whom he's been dating since 2022.
