NBA star Giannis Antetokounmpo's wife Mariah recently made headlines for her decision to reportedly relocate part of her family overseas while her husband focuses on his basketball career.
The Milwaukee Bucks WAG was the talk of the NBA earlier this month after the Greek outlet "Tovima" reported that she and her children were living in Athens, Greece while Giannis finishes out his time playing professional basketball. The couple, who wed in 2024, share four kids together: Liam, 5, Maverick, 4, Eva, 3, and infant Aria.
In a new interview with "Marie Claire Greece," Mariah raved about Giannis, proving to fans that there's no trouble in paradise, despite the couple's modern living arrangements.
"I love him for who he is, how affectionate he is with his family, how he is like my best friend at home. He is not perfect, no one is, but he is a great person, protective, devoted," Mariah said in an English translation. "I let him be himself and I try to make his life easier, to make sure he is well and to make the most of his abilities.”
After having one of the NBA star's children, she suffered from debilitating postpartum depression. She is now using her platform to encourage other women who are facing similar struggles to seek help.
“Don’t be ashamed to seek help,” she advises other pregnant mothers. “You won’t be a ‘burden’ to anyone—far more people than you think are going through similar situations. Don’t feel embarrassed.”
Inside Mariah Antetokounmpo's life abroad without Giannis
Despite all the fame that comes along with being married to a well-known NBA player, Mariah said she's been able to recently maintain a "relatively normal life."
"I wake up and take the kids to school and activities," she said. “I enjoy seeing that their lives don’t revolve only around glamour. We can join forces and make a difference.”

Giannis, 30, has been with the Milwaukee Bucks since the team drafted him in the first round of the 2013 NBA draft. Since then, he's become a nine-time All-Star and two-time league MVP, earning the honor in both 2019 and 2020.
While his focus is still clearly set on basketball, his wife, Mariah, helps run the family's charity, the Charles Antetokounmpo Family Foundation.
