Nina Dobrev and Shaun White have reportedly split.
The couple who got engaged last year and have been together for five years have broken up, according to PEOPLE.
"It was a mutual decision, and wasn’t an easy one, but it was made with love and a deep respect for one another," a source close to the couple told the publication.
The split comes as a surprise to fans as the professional snowboarder and "Vampire Diaries" actress were just seen together on Aug. 31 while running errands in Los Angeles.
However, only a few days later, Dobrev walked the red carpet solo at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival in support of her film "Eternity," which she stars in alongside Miles Teller and Callum Turner. What also sparked a potential breakup was that she was noticeably missing her engagement ring.
Unlike other celebrity splits, photos of the actress and the professional athlete are still visible on her social media, including their engagement photo. She did, however, unpin the post from the top of her Instagram feed.
"RIP boyfriend, hello fiancé," she wrote on the October 2024 post.
White also confirmed the engagement -- which is still visible on his Instagram -- with a photo of himself down on one knee with the caption, "She said YES."
When did Nina Dobrev and Shaun White meet?
Dobrev and White met originally back in 2012 but didn't reconnect until 2019 when they were booked for the same event by motivational speaker Tony Robbins. They began dating and went Instagram official in 2020, with the actress giving White a haircut.
Over the course of their relationship, they have been traveling the world together, including trips to New York, Switzerland and, most recently, a trip to Spain in June.
Despite the reports, the couple has not spoken out at this time about their split.
