Sophie Cunningham repped her hometown NBA team when she returned to the court last night after being ejected from a game earlier in the week.

Instead of rocking one of her usual bold looks, the 28-year-old Indiana Fever guard wore a blue Indiana Pacers sweatshirt and denim jeans in the tunnel ahead of her game against the Golden State Valkyries.

Cunningham was ejected for a flagrant foul 2 near the end of the game against the Connecticut Sun on Tuesday night. The foul was seemingly a retaliation for an earlier incident involving the Sun and her teammate, Caitlin Clark.

Clark was involved in multiple incidents during Tuesday night's WNBA game, including one that resulted in her hitting the deck after being shoved to the ground by Marina Mabrey in the third quarter.

She was also poked in the eye by Connecticut guard Jacy Sheldon, which resulted in a brief scuffle between players on both sides.

Cunningham later delivered a hard foul on Sheldon, which led to another heated confrontation between the teams.

As a result, Cunningham and Sheldon, as well as Sun star Lindsay Allen, were all thrown out of the game.

WNBA fans praise Sophie Cunningham for backing Caitlin Clark

Despite the drama resulting in a likely foul for Cunningham, the Fever star has received a wave of support following her actions.

Several people commented on a post she shared on TikTok on Thursday, thanking her for supporting Clark.

"Love what you did for Caitlin Clark," one person commented.

"Keep it up. Actions have consequences. Caitlin doesn't deserve all the fouls and harsh treatment. If the WNBA and refs won't do anything, someone should. You stepped up. Good. Stick up for your teammate since noone else will," another person wrote.

"Keep on stepping up for yourself and your teammates," someone else wrote.
