Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Ellie Thumann is having a major “underwear-as-outerwear” fashion moment. And she stunned in her recent lingerie-inspired look.
Wearing a black bra and pair of black briefs under a sheer, lacy lingerie-like gown, the model turned heads at the premiere of Season 5 of Stranger Things. In addition to a red carpet moment, she also posted a close-up video to TikTok.
“Fresh blonde and a good makeup day,” she captioned the Friday, November 7 share. Over the top she added, “Sign to go blonder for the fall.”
“Omgg so gorgeous,” raved a fan in the comments.
“Obsessed!!!” Said another.
“You are glowing,” added a third.
For Thumann’s arrival video at the event, she captioned the video she shared, “Why am I emotional 5 is gonna be INSANE.” Over the top Thumann — clearly a fan of the hit Netflix show — wrote, “Bucket list moment right here!!”
“LIVING MY DREAM,” wrote a commenter who clearly was also a fan of the show.
“I’m so jelly,” agreed a second.

Thumann, 23, has appeared in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue three times. After taking a year off, she announced in September that she was returning to modeling. She did, however, hit the runway once during her year’s sabbatical — for the Sports Illustrated Runway Show this past May to close out Miami Swim Week. Also walking in the show were the 2025 cover stars Livvy Dunne, Jordan Chiles and Lauren Chan, plus models including Xandra Pohl, Jena Sims, Denise Bidot and Katie Austin.
