Stunning model and activist Lauren Chan is a reigning cover model of Sports Illustrated’s swimsuit issue. But she was a star even before that — including the year before, when she posed for a stunning photo shoot in Mexico.

SI Swim recently took to social media to show off two of the most sizzling pics from Chan’s time in the Mexican Caribbean.

“Featuring turquoise waters, beautiful beaches and stunning swimsuits, Lauren Chan owned every moment of her 2024 SI Swimsuit feature in Mexico,” the brand captioned the September 29 share on X (formerly Twitter).

Chan’s rookie year was 2023, when she was working as a fashion writer for hot magazines such as Vogue and Interivew (she later because the fashion features editor at Glamour).

“Now, she pursues both modeling and journalistic endeavors, including working as a broadcaster and host on Canadian programs like The SocialCityLine, and eTalk,” says the accompanying article on Sports Illustrated Swimsuit.

Chan, 34, is one of four cover models for the 2025 Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue. She joined two of them — Livvy Dunne and Jordan Chiles — to walk in the magazine’s runway show to close out Miami Swim Week this past May 31. The VIP-only, sold-out show featured mostly models from this year’s issue and took place at the glamorous W South Beach. Also walking in the show were 2025 models such as Penny Lane, Xandra Pohl, Ilona Maher, Katie Austin, Nicole Williams English, Ali Truwit, Camille Kostek, Achieng Agutu, Jasmine Sanders, Alix Earle, Jena Sims and Denise Bidot.
