Miss Indiana honors Caitlin Clark with WNBA-themed Miss USA costume image

WNBA star Caitlin Clark was represented in a big way at this year's Miss USA preliminary competition. 

Contestants vying for the 2025 title of Miss USA hit the runway in a bevy of bold, custom fit's during the state costume portion of the pageant on Monday, Oct. 20

Miss Indiana contestant, Sydney Shrewsbury, had one of the best costumes of the night, a basketball-inspired fit honoring Clark. 

A video posted to X captured Shrewsbury, a sales and marketing executive from Salesforce, strutting on stage in a black and gold tube top with the WNBA star's No. 22 jersey number on the front. She paired the Pacers-colored top with black shorts featuring "Indiana" on the waistband, a long embellished coat, and white knee boots. She topped off the outfit by carrying a sparkly basketball-shaped purse. 

Miss Indiana's costume goes viral during Miss USA pageant

Miss Indiana's look quickly went viral, drawing in a wave of supportive reactions online. 

"Caitlin Clark is iconic as much as a certain group of fans hate to admit it," one user on X wrote. 

"Obsessed is an understatement, " a second person commented.

"Killed it!! My favorite," another added.

The state costume competition is always one of the most fun and creative parts of the entire event, and the women competing for this year's crown really showed out. 

One contestant dressed as a Las Vegas showgirl, wearing a giant feather headband and fully-sequined bodysuit, while another rocked a Nasa costume complete with a rocket ship on her back. 

The Miss USA Finals will take place on Friday, Oct. 24 at 8 PM EST at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada. "Big Brother" star Taylor Hale is hosting this year's competition.
