If 2016 is the new 2026 — as the viral social media trend goes — flawless Sports Illustrated swimsuit model was already at the top of her game as she was finishing up college at USC.
“Love seeing everyone else’s 2016 posts!!!” Katie, 32, captioned her Monday, J anuary 12 Instagram share. “2016 for me was year 2 of my fitness biz - even though I didn’t know WHAT I was doing, I was still in college at USC (see slide 3 teaching sorority classes🥹), just starting my cooking vids, and clearlyyy wanting to be a swimsuit model lol. Crazy that a decade later I’m basically doing the same damn thing.. Except thank goodness I learned how to teach better workouts hahah.”
Her 19-image carousel post includes many early videos of the daughter of 90s workout video icon Denise Austin doing workouts — and several of the co-ed and future SW Swim star posing in skimpy bikinis.
“Moral of this post: good sh*t takes time,” she concluded in her caption. “Been building for 12 years!!! And still feels like I’m just getting started.”

Her fellow SI Swim model Jena Sims, wife of headline-grabbing golfer Brooks Koepka, wrote about a photo of Katie in a skimpy bathing suit and holding tropical fruit over her head, “Literally have the exact pineapple photo from then too lmao.” Katie responded, “hahahah sooo IG model circa 2016.”
Katie just celebrated her milestone first five years with SI Swim.
