Angel Reese knows how to get people talking, whether she’s grabbing rebounds or just walking into the arena. In the Instagram story from Friday, June 21, shared by Yahoo Sports, the Chicago Sky forward made her pregame entrance ahead of the Sky–Mercury matchup wearing an eye-catching outfit that instantly had people talking.

Reese rocked a cropped, form-fitting white and black zip-up top, a leopard print head wrap, camo cargo-style skirt, heels, gold jewelry, and a bright red bag slung at her waist. She stopped to pose confidently in the tunnel before walking in, and the reaction came fast.

Some fans loved the look, calling her “sexy as hell” and praising her confidence and energy. But the backlash was of course there just as much, with critics saying she should “work on [her] game” and mocking the outfit’s styling. One comment even said she looked like “Captain Jack Sparrow,” while others threw in snarky guesses at her point total for the night.

Reese, 23, has embraced her role as one of the WNBA’s most talked-about stars, and moments like this show why. Some of the backlash toward Reese has been amplified by her ongoing rivalry with Caitlin Clark, whose quieter on-court demeanor often draws a different kind of media response.

Whether you’re a fan or a critic, she’s clearly living rent-free in a lot of heads, and this was all before the game started. Chicago ended up losing to Phoenix 107 to 86.
