Karl-Anthony Towns is seven feet tall, a former No. 1 overall pick, and currently one of the biggest names in New York basketball. But when he dropped a casual little gym-day carousel on Instagram Tuesday, November 25, the person who stole the spotlight wasn’t the NBA star. It was the 18-year-old standing next to him: Tom Brady’s son, Jack.
The pics were taken at a Life Time gym, and the first shot alone was enough to send the internet into meltdown. Brady, 48, stands on one side, Towns, 30, is on the other, and right in the middle is Jack — not just taller than his dad, but nearly shoulder-to-shoulder with KAT.
Other slides show the teen dribbling, Towns and Brady holding basketballs, and a quick mid-conversation moment between Jack and the five-time All-Star. Wrapping up the photo dump, Towns included an image of Jack catching air for a clean dunk. “Next time we’re running routes? @tombrady,” he captioned the post.
The internet wasted no time reacting. Within minutes, the comments filled up with people stunned by Jack’s height, his resemblance to his dad, and the fact that he’s getting up at the rim. And while plenty of fans were focused on the genetics, the rest immediately jumped to a bigger question: is the GOAT’s son actually headed toward a basketball future?
“So Tom’s son 6'6…oh lord..if we get a Brady in the NBA that’ll be crazy 🔥," one fan wrote, kicking off the wave of predictions. “God imagine this kid goes last pick in nba draft… and goes on to win 7 nba rings lol all for the plot,” another teased.
The team guesses came right behind the jokes. “A dunking Brady!? The NBA is on notice...@celtics I know you're keeping tabs on this one. 😂👀,” someone said, while another pushed for the West Coast: “Hope he plays for the lakers.”
College fans slipped in too. “I can see him playing basketball 🏀 👏🏽👏🏽 College basketball would be fire 🔥,” one commenter posted, and another dropped, “Future Michigan Wolverine right there.” Then came the superstar projections. “Training Brady, Jr to become the next MJ… Professional NBA MVP for Team Miami Heat 🔥🏀⛹🏻🏆🌟👀,” someone said, while another tagged Jack’s mom, Bridget Moynahan, with, “add future NBA Mom to your IMDb!”
For anyone panicking that they’re losing a future Brady quarterback to the NBA, relax — nothing official suggests Jack is ditching football. Brady previously told Men’s Health that his oldest son “loves sports” in general, not just one. Jack has played football, basketball, and even some soccer, and the dad of three has described him to People as “a very good student” who’s naturally competitive but still figuring out what he enjoys most.
