Tennis legend Serena Williams and YouTube star Mr. Beast may be a part of two very different industries, but they are coming together in an unexpected way for a very positive purpose. Williams and Mr. Beast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, got together to film a special new YouTube video to raise money for charity. In the video, Williams is challenged to play tennis against four different women at once. To add to the excitement, these women happen to be quadruplets.
Williams turned to Instagram on Monday, May 26 and to promote the video and share her excitement over the collaboration.
“I had an incredible day on the court with @mrbeast ahhhhhhhhhh yes MR BEAST! Fan girl here! We shared plenty of laughs, raised money for charity, and created unforgettable memories. The video is now live on YouTube - don’t miss it! I had to beat 4 ladies all at the same time ... do you think I could do it? Tune in!,” she wrote in the caption.
The rules of the challenge were simple enough. If any one of the four women were able to return a serve from Williams, Mr. Beast would pay them $100,000. However, if they were unsuccessful, Mr. Beast would then give the $100,000 to any charity of Williams’ choice. Ultimately, when Williams unsurprisingly came out victorious, she chose the Yetunde Price Resource Center.
This non-profit organization is especially close to Williams’ heart as it was named after her older half sister, Yetunde Price, who was killed in a drive-by shooting in 2003. This organization raises money for the victims of violence and their families.
