NFL star Travis Hunter pushes back on WAG trolls: 'Top things that never happened'

Travis Hunter has had his rookie NFL campaign take an unexpected turn, but the Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver isn’t letting the noise distract him from what matters most.

Selected second overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2025 NFL Draft, the 22-year-old saw his first professional season cut short after suffering a torn lateral collateral ligament. The injury required surgery in November and sidelined him for the remainder of the year, shifting his attention away from Sundays and toward recovery — and, lately, social media.

That transition came during a major life change off the field. Hunter and his wife, Leanna Lenee, welcomed their first child earlier this year. The couple, who married in May 2025 after years together, announced the pregnancy in an August YouTube vlog and have kept their son’s name private.

Recently, Hunter shared a series of beach photos on Instagram showing Lenee holding their newborn as he leaned in for a kiss. The post was captioned simply: “Dada babies.” While many fans congratulated the couple, the comment section also drew familiar internet speculation about Lenee’s loyalty.

When one commenter alleged infidelity, Hunter responded directly and decisively. “Top things that never happened,” he wrote, shutting down the rumor without elaboration.

The exchange reopened a pattern the couple has dealt with since Hunter’s rise to national prominence. According to Atlanta Black Star, Lenee, now a content creator with hundreds of thousands of followers across Instagram and TikTok, has often been scrutinized as Hunter’s profile has grown. The attention intensified during his college career at Jackson State University and later at the University of Colorado Boulder, where he became one of the sport’s most recognizable stars.

One flashpoint came at the 2024 Heisman Trophy ceremony in New York, when video showed Colorado head coach Deion Sanders prompting Lenee to stand as Hunter was announced as the winner. Online criticism quickly followed, with detractors questioning her reaction.

Hunter addressed that backlash months later during a livestream, standing firmly behind his partner. “I know what I got. I know my girl. My girl’s been with me for five years,” he said at the time.

Lenee later explained that she remained seated because Hunter’s mother did as well, adding that she was overwhelmed and emotional in the moment. In July 2025, she returned to TikTok to speak about ongoing cyberbullying, sharing that she had spent recent months focusing on personal growth and faith.

As Hunter rehabs his injury and prepares for his next NFL chapter, he’s made one thing clear: online speculation won’t rewrite his reality.
