Megan Thee Stallion rang in the new year by stepping into a new role — restaurant owner — as she officially opened her first Popeyes franchise in Miami’s South Beach neighborhood.

According to The Miami New-Times, the Grammy-winning rapper marked the occasion on New Year’s Eve, celebrating the grand opening of the Washington Avenue location with staff, fans, and plenty of energy.

While Megan has been romantically linked to NBA star Klay Thompson in recent months, she arrived solo for the milestone.

The Miami opening represents a major step in Megan’s ongoing partnership with Popeyes, which began in 2021 with the launch of her limited-edition Hottie Sauce. The sauce quickly became a viral hit, helping to solidify her connection to the brand well before ownership came into play.

Megan first teased plans for a Popeyes franchise in April 2025, sharing behind-the-scenes construction-site footage on TikTok. In one video, she spoke about balancing her creative and business ambitions, saying, “I wear many hats. When I’m in the booth, I wear that hat. When I’m at Popeyes, I wear this hat.”

At the grand opening, Megan made it clear she intended to be hands-on. Videos shared to social media showed her greeting employees, learning their names, and joking around behind the counter. When a manager suggested she didn’t need to memorize everyone’s name, Megan pushed back with a simple response: “Oh yes, I do.”

She also addressed the staff directly, setting a lighthearted but engaged tone for her role as owner. “This is going to be the best experience for me, and hopefully for y’all,” she said in one clip. “I hope this is a fun job, and I hope everyone has a blast.”

Fans gathered outside the restaurant throughout the day, with many capturing the moment on their phones as Megan interacted with customers and posed for photos. On Instagram, she later dubbed the location “Thee Littest Popeyes,” officially confirming that the Miami store marked her debut as a franchise owner.
