Megan Thee Stallion awarding scholarships for 'academic hotties'

Megan Thee Stallion is putting her money—and her platform—behind education. The Grammy-winning artist announced a new round of grants aimed at students and teachers, inviting what she calls “academic hotties” to apply for direct financial support tied to school and career goals.

The initiative is called the Best In Class Award Grant and is powered by her Pete & Thomas Foundation in partnership with Toyota. The program will award $5,000 grants to 10 recipients total: five college students and five K–12 public school educators. Applications are open now and close on Feb. 11.

The call to action arrived via social media over the weekend, with Megan asking followers, “We’re looking for the Best In Class academic hottie. Is that you?” According to the foundation, the goal is to reduce financial barriers and support education equity by providing flexible funds that recipients can use toward tuition, supplies, or professional development.

Eligibility requirements differ by category. Students must be currently enrolled in a two- or four-year college and have a GPA of at least 2.7 (a B-minus average). Teachers must have at least 5 years of experience in a K–12 public school classroom. All applicants must demonstrate financial need.

Megan’s commitment to education is personal. In December 2021, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Administration from Texas Southern University, fulfilling a promise she made to her late mother. That achievement has become a cornerstone of her advocacy, reinforcing her message that academic focus and ambition can coexist with pop stardom.

The Pete & Thomas Foundation—named in honor of her parents, Holly Thomas and Joseph Pete III—has expanded quickly. The nonprofit hosted its inaugural gala in New York City in July 2025 and raised more than $1.2 million to support education, housing, and wellness initiatives in underserved communities.

“Whether you’re in your locked-in era or leading the next generation in the classroom, we see you and want to support your journey,” the foundation said in its announcement.

While Megan’s music and headline moments often dominate the conversation—and yes, she’s also in the spotlight as the girlfriend of NBA star Klay Thompson—this program underscores a consistent throughline: using visibility to create tangible opportunities.
