The Baltimore Orioles are blending baseball and hip-hop history this spring with a giveaway that nods to one of the most influential artists of all time.

According to Complex, on May 8, 2026, fans attending the Orioles’ home game against the Oakland Athletics will have a chance to receive a Tupac Shakur bobblehead, celebrating the late rapper’s connection to the city.

The team revealed the collectible through MLB’s official social media channels, confirming that the first 15,000 fans through the gates at Oriole Park at Camden Yards will receive the limited-edition item. The bobblehead depicts Tupac wearing an Orioles jersey, bandana, and gold chain — a visual tribute that merges Baltimore baseball culture with hip-hop legacy.

While Tupac Shakur is most often associated with the West Coast rap scene, his ties to Baltimore run deep. Born in New York City, Shakur spent much of his teenage years in Baltimore after moving there in the late 1980s. During that time, he attended the Baltimore School for the Arts, where he studied acting, poetry, jazz, and ballet — creative foundations that would later shape his music and public persona.

MLB acknowledged the moment online, posting, “The Orioles will give away a Tupac bobblehead at their game on May 8th vs the Athletics,” sparking immediate buzz among fans of both baseball and hip-hop.

The Tupac giveaway is part of the Orioles’ newly announced slate of themed nights and special events for the 2026 season. Along with unique collectibles, the team is offering themed ticket packages and fan experiences, with tickets scheduled to go on sale Wednesday, Jan. 14.

Tupac won’t be the only figure honored with a bobblehead this season. The Orioles also announced plans for a Pete Alonso bobblehead giveaway at their Aug. 22 matchup against the Tampa Bay Rays. Alonso, who signed a five-year, $155 million contract with Baltimore during the offseason, will be featured in his own collectible later in the summer.
