After easing through its NCAA tournament opener, top-seeded Nebraska is set for a second-round match against Kansas State with a berth in the regionals on the line.

The Huskers (3-0) had no trouble with Long Island University on Friday, prevailing 25-11, 25-15, 25-17. Nebraska hit.476 as a team while spreading the love around, as five different players tallied at least six kills. 

 

 

The Wildcats (18-9) emerged from a marathon, back-and-forth opener, finally downing No. 8 seed San Diego 15-12 in the fifth set. 

As former conference foes, Nebraska and K-State have a long history against one another, and the Huskers have been dominant, going 83-4 in their previous matchups. Their most recent loss to the Wildcats came in the second round of the 2011 NCAA tournament.

First serve between Nebraska and Kansas State is set for 8 p.m. ET on Saturday. The match will be played at the Bob Devaney Sports Center in Lincoln, Nebraska.
