SEC gymnastics is in full swing, and it continues with a Friday night showdown in Athens. Georgia hosts LSU in a top-10 meet.
The No. 8 Bulldogs are fresh off a win over Ohio State where they posted a 197.000, their highest opening score since 2007. All-American Lily Smith earned three event titles at the meet on bars, beam and floor.
The Tigers, ranked second in the nation, finished tied for first at the Sprouts Collegiate Quad. Their 197.500 finish tied it up with Oklahoma, who ultimately won the meet on a tiebreaker. Regardless, it was a confident start to the season for LSU who recorded its second-best season opening score in program history.
