The beat marches on.

Marion Local has won, again. That's 76 in a row for the Flyers from Maria Stein, Ohio, the longest active winning streak in United States high school football.

This one was simple, a 35-0 cruise past Fort Recovery in an OHSAA Division VII Region 28 semifinal.

Next up is a big one: a regional final matchup with MAC foe St. Henry, a team that all season has seemed like it would have a real chance of ending the winning streak.

St. Henry raced past Cedarville on Friday in their regional semifinal to set up the highly anticipated rematch.

The Flyers played the Redskins way back in Week 3 and pulled out a hard-fought 21-14 win.

Marion Local will enter the rematch at 12-0. St. Henry is 11-1, with only that loss to the Flyers.

The squad from Maria Stein has won the last four Division VII state titles and has 15 overall.

St. Henry has six state championships in their history, but before this bunch, they've been in a bit of a down spell. They haven't won one since 2006.

Whoever wins next Friday's game will be considered the state championship favorite. And it's all on the line as far as the magical, magnificent win streak is concerned. The Flyers won't be giving up this record easily.

Elsewhere in the MAC

The Division VI, Region 24 final will feature two MAC teams, as well.

Coldwater knocked off Tri-Village on Friday night.

Anna handled Northeastern.

It was Anna who beat Coldwater back in Week 4, 14-7.
