TL;DR
- * Grady Kinsey of Indian Valley is a strong candidate for Mr.
- Football in Ohio.
- * He is poised to become the OHSAA's all-time rushing touchdowns leader.
- * Kinsey is also on track to finish in the top three for all-time rushing yards.
Every year, in a football-mad state like Ohio, there are so many compelling cases as the top player in the high school ranks.
It'd be hard to ever make a better case than Grady Kinsey of Indian Valley this fall, though.
Kinsey's squad didn't play on Friday night thanks to the OHSAA's new bye system for the top-four seeds in every region.
But their mission will resume on Nov. 7 as they try and defend their Division IV state championship.
And all the while, Kinsey will be putting up some of the best numbers in state history.
Kinsey is likely to end up as the state's all-time rushing touchdowns leader. He has 119, and the leader Daniel Bangura (Harvest Prep 2014-17) had 124).
He's currently fifth all-time in rushing yards, with solo third place well within reach.
As Martin RPI points out, Kinsey missed out on one game this year due to cancellation, then had the newly introduced bye week.
If I had a Mr. Football vote, it would easily go to Indian Valley RB Grady Kinsey this year. Here's where the Air Force commit's career & season stats are to this point.

He's going to end up as the OHSAA All-Time Rushing TD leader, and will be Top 3 in Rushing Yards.

So far, last season's state championship game is Kinsey's crowning achievement. Against a loaded Sandusky Perkins team, Kinsey was practically unstoppable in a one-point Indian Valley win.
They've got a legitimate chance to repeat this year, and it all starts with Kinsey.
He shouldn't have to win the crown again to win Mr. Football, but it wouldn't hurt. Division IV players aren't often chosen for the award.
But Kinsey is the real deal. He's going to Air Force, quite the impressive feat in and of itself.
And as long as Kinsey is on the field this fall, he's going to be getting the football and picking up chunks of yardage. It's just what he does.
