Adam Copeland and Christian Cage reunite to take on FTR. The former duo was considered one of the greatest tag teams in wrestling history. After embarking on singles careers, the two reunited in AEW, albeit as enemies. Copeland tried to get Cage to see the light, but the latter refused.
Following a brief feud and some space, Copeland teamed with FTR before they betrayed him. Cage came to help his old partner, and the two will team up for the first time in over a decade.
It is one of several grudge matches on the card.
Jon Moxley and the Death Riders took out Darby Allin multiple times. Allin has made it his mission to destroy the group. He finally got Moxley to accept a match against him. The only way to win their contest, a Coffin match, is to put your opponent in a coffin.
Meanwhile, Mark Briscoe and MJF compete in a Tables 'n' Thumbtacks match, while The Hurt Syndicate look to prove why they hurt people when they take on rivals Ricochet and GOA.
Multiple titles are on the line at the event. "Hangman" Adam Page defends the AEW World Championship against the future in Kyle Fletcher. Mercedes Mone defends the AEW TBS Championship against the first women’s champion, Riho, while "Timeless" Toni Storm puts her belt on the line against three of the best women’s wrestlers in AEW today.
Tag team gold is on the line, Kazuchika Okada defends the AEW Unified Championship, and Eddie Kingston finally returns to action.
