November is nearly upon us, and with that the promise of more international rugby union matches with the Autumn Internationals getting underway on November 1. AllSportsPeople has all you need to know about the upcoming fixtures.

What are the Autumn Internationals?

The Autumn Internationals, also known as the Quilter Nations Series, is a series of international rugby union matches that are played during the November international window. Domestic leagues, like the English Gallagher PREM, pause to allow for this series of Test matches.

The matches consist of Northern Hemisphere nations who play against visiting Southern Hemisphere nations. There is no tournament winner for the league, as each of the matches instead stand as individual Test matches.

The competing countries are: England, Ireland, Scotland, the USA, Italy, Wales and France from the Northern Hemisphere, and Australia, New Zealand, Argentina, South Africa, Fiji, Samoa and Tonga visiting from the Southern Hemisphere.

Who is the England squad for the Autumn Internationals?

Although the match-day 23 man squad has not been announced yet for England’s first match against Australia, England Rugby unveiled their three-day 36 man training squad earlier this week.

The squad includes new winger Noah Calouri, who made his PREM debut on the weekend with Saracens, scoring five tries.

Former captain Owen Farrell has been missed off of the squad, as well as Tom Willis, after he has been rendered ineligible following news of his imminent move to France.
