The Italians, meanwhile, were taken the distance by an inspired Ukrainian side. After losing the first singles, Jasmine Paolini kept the team afloat with a hard-fought 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 win over Elina Svitolina. She then joined forces with Sara Errani to win the deciding doubles and take Italy to their third straight final.
