Novak Djokovic overcame Taylor Fritz once again to book his spot in the semi-finals of this year's US Open.
The Serbian's 6-3 7-5 3-6 6-4 win on Tuesday night (September 2) under the lights at Arthur Ashe Stadium took his career record over Fritz to 11-0.
In a contest that lasted nearly three-and-a-half hours, Djokovic proved that at 38, he can still operate at the highest level on the court.
Fritz appeared to let his poor record against the 24-time Grand Slam winner affect him as he failed to convert 11 of 13 break point opportunities across the four sets.
Djokovic had to display immense resilience in the early stages of the match, as he fought off five break points along the way to serving out the opening set.
Fritz failed to capitalise after landing a break in the second set's 10th game, as Djokovic broke back immediately in the following game before serving out the set.
The American was able to take the third set, but he committed a double-fault in the final set's 10th game to gift Djokovic the decisive break and the victory.

Djokovic's reaction to his quarter-final win
After taking care of business against last year's US Open runner-up, Djokovic reflected on his display and openly admitted the difficulty of the contest.
"It was an incredibly close match, really anybody's match. I thought I was lucky to save some crucial break points," the 38-year-old said in his on-court interview.
"For most of the second and third set, he was the better player. In these matches, few points decide the winner. It was fortunately coming on my side," he added.
The Serbian then touched on the passion he still has for tennis, despite already experiencing a memorable career.
"I'm really proud of the fight that I put in. I wear my heart on my sleeve always for this sport. I'm, still enjoying it."
Djokovic has now reached the last four of every Grand Slam event in 2025, and he will take on five-time major winner, Carlos Alcaraz, in Friday's semi-final (September 5) at Flushing Meadows.
