Jannik Sinner ensured there would be no upset in the China Open final on Wednesday (October 1) as he comfortably took care of business against Learner Tien.
The world no. 2 and top seed beat the American teenager 6-2 6-2 in Beijing to secure the 21st ATP Tour title win of his professional career.
This is the third event the Italian star has won in 2025 after successfully defending his Australian Open title earlier in the year, and winning his first Wimbledon title over the summer.

Sinner was competing in his first tournament since losing the US Open final to Carlos Alcaraz a few weeks ago, which subsequently saw him lose his no. 1 ranking to the Spaniard.
Hence, he will be glad to have put that defeat at Flushing Meadows behind him as quickly as he has done.

The 19-year-old's serving issues in the opening game led to a double-fault on the very first point and he would go on be broken right away.
Sinner found another break in the fifth game to stretch his lead to 4-1 before soon wrapping up the opening set.
Tien did improve as the contest in the Chinese capital wore on, but he did not convert the two break points he had against the world no. 2.
Sinner broke the unseeded American in the fifth and seventh game of the second set before converting on his third match point while serving in the eighth game to claim the title.
During the trophy presentation, Sinner reflected on being a two-time champion in Beijing, after previously winning the event in 2023, while also praising his team.
"It (Beijing) is a very, very special place for me. My team, thanks for working with me and we will try to improve and push for more, and let's see what the rest of the season looks like. I am very happy to share this (trophy) with all of you."
The 24-year-old then acknowledged Tien's display and offered words of encouragement for the teenager.
"You are showing all season what a talent you are. Keep going, you are playing incredible tennis. Hopefully we can share moments like this in the future," Sinner told the American.
Sinner will now turn his immediate attention to defending his Shanghai Masters 1000 title, with his opening match set to take place on Friday (October 3) against Germany's Daniel Altmaier.
There will be no outing between Sinner and Alcaraz in Shanghai, as the latter pulled out of the event after winning the Japan Open on Tuesday (September 30).
