Emma Raducanu was knocked out of the 2025 Korea Open on Thursday (September 18) after failing to take advantage of three match points against Barbora Krejcikova.

The British no. 1 seemed to be heading for the quarter-finals in Seoul, but a resilient Krejcikova did not know when to quit.

The Czech pulled off a sensational 4-6 7-6 (12-10) 6-1 win after nearly three hours of action in the Korean capital.

The defeat will be a devastating blow for Raducanu, as she chose to pull out of representing Team GB at the Billie Jean King Cup Finals to compete in Korea.

The opening set saw Raducanu recover from an early break and fight off two break points, before landing a break of Krejcikova's serve in the tenth game to take the set.

Raducanu recovered from an early break once more in the second set and appeared to be cruising to victory at 5-2 in front.

Two games later, the 2021 US Open champion had her first match point on serve, but she was unable to convert and Krejcikova fought back to eventually force a tie-break.

Raducanu was 5-2 up in the tie-break, but she could never quite pull away from Krejcikova, and ended up squandering two opportunities on her serve to close out the contest.

The Czech eventually came out as the winner of the tie-break on her fourth set point and forced a deciding set.

Raducanu looked to land the first real blow in the third game of the decider at 1-1, but the eighth seed could not convert two break points.

Krejcikova soon took control of proceedings by winning five successive games to clinch victory.

After outlasting Raducanu, the former Wimbledon winner will now play top seed and six-time major champion Iga Swiatek in the last eight in Seoul.
