Darren Lockyer's bid for the London Broncos to be promoted into the United Kingdom's premiere rugby league competition will have to wait as they've officially been looked over for the 14-team Super League expansion.
The Brisbane legend agreed to terms with the Broncos a month ago, becoming a majority owner in the burgeoning franchise.
The Rugby Football League met on Friday local time to decide which two clubs would join the 12 existing Super League sides.

Toulouse and York were the two sides that were given the green light, however, Lockyer remains optimistic about the future prospects of the London-based organisation.
"This remains an exciting period for the club," said Lockyer in a statement released by the Broncos.
"The Broncos are building with purpose and clarity, and there is real belief in what can be achieved.
"Our coach and many of our significant player signings for 2026 were committed to this regardless of the Super League decision.
"We will work hard together to achieve a new goal of winning the championship in 2026."
With a fresh ownership group led by Lockyer, a new head coach in Jason Demetriou, and marquee NRL recruits like Reagan Campbell-Gillard and Siliva Havili, London rugby league enters a new era.
However, the Broncos will begin their fresh campaign in the Championship, where they plied their trade this past season after a brief foray in the top-tier league in 2024.
