Buccaneers' Todd Bowles offers Mike Evans injury update image

Tampa Bay Buccaneers receiver Mike Evans has been missed for the past couple of weeks as the Pro Bowler is dealing with a hamstring injury.

With Tampa Bay still finding ways to win without Evans, as Baker Mayfield and Emeka Egbuka have developed a serious connection, there doesn't appear to be a rush to get No. 13 back on the field.

Which is a good thing because the last thing the Buccaneers want is for Evans to be rushed back, break down, and then be sidelined for longer. Having already missed a couple of games, how is Evans progressing? Head coach Todd Bowles revealed all.

“He's coming along,” Bowles said. “I mean, he's healing. I can't tell you how fast or when, but he's healing and he's working trying to get back fast as he can.”

Buccaneers still hit by injury bug

Sitting at 4-1 and with a handful of starters still out, there "should" be blue skies ahead for Tampa Bay.

As Wednesday's injury report dropped, Chris Godwin, Bucky Irving, Zyon McCollum, and Benjamin Morrison were DNPs, while Lavonte David, Jamel Dean, Christian Izien, and Tristan Wirfs were all limited.

So, there is still some pretty heavy artillery to come back on both sides of the ball for the Buccaneers, and that will surely make the second half of the season more manageable.

With three games until the bye, the Buccaneers have a chance to plant their flag in the ground and have a big second half of the season with the reinforcements arriving. Of course, the NFL is never as simple as that, but Tampa Bay is positioning itself for a genuine Super Bowl tilt.
