The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have come up short yet again, this time in a 44-32 loss to the Buffalo Bills that saw Baker Mayfield and the offense go up and down the field regularly.

But as we know, in a game that sees two top teams go against each other, the turnover battle is key, and although Tampa Bay won it, it still lost the game.

One positive to take away from the loss was the Buccaneers' rushing attack, led by Sean Tucker (106 rushing yards and two touchdowns), which posted a total of 202 yards on the ground.

And for Mayfield, the offense did score 32 points and moved the ball well, and he cited what was a big reason for that, yet his costly mistake in the third quarter haunts him.

“Execution in the run game," Mayfield said. "Guys took it to heart that we needed to run the ball better, and that goes for everybody. Thought those guys handled it really well, but just didn't make enough plays today. Obviously weren't on the right side of the game, but goes back to where the momentum swung in the game of the interception on third down in our own territory.

"So, it's going to be hard. Played well for the most part, but critical moments like that can't have it."

Buccaneers' season spiraling after Bills loss

With the loss to Buffalo, the Buccaneers have now lost three of their last four games and drop to 6-4 on the season. With the Carolina Panthers beating the Atlanta Falcons, they now move to 6-5, and the hunt for the NFC South title is suddenly in danger.

And what's worse for Tampa Bay is that it faces the 8-2 Los Angeles Rams next week at SoFi Stadium, so the Buccaneers' season is in danger of going south in a hurry.

Can Todd Bowles and his team turn things around?

They'll have to because for a team that was once seen as a Super Bowl contender, they are now getting a little wobbly as the season rolls on.

The slide has to stop, and against the Rams, that might be a tough thing to do.
