Will former Steelers HC Mike Tomlin coach again? Insider drops the hammer on future image

The Pittsburgh Steelers will have a new head coach for the first time in nearly two decades, with Mike Tomlin stepping down.

It was huge news when it broke, and, with so many other NFL teams clamoring for head coaches, Tomlin's name naturally popped up everywhere.

Sometimes coaches like to get straight back into it, as John Harbaugh did after leaving the Baltimore Ravens. Others, like Mike McCarthy, took a year off before returning.

What about Tomlin? Is there any chance he could return to the coaching ranks?

NFL Insider Jay Glazer was a guest on Wake Up Barstool and dropped the hammer on Tomlin's future.

"That's not happening," Glazer said on Tomlin returning to coaching. "Mike T's done. Everybody has called about Mike Tomlin. I probably had seven teams call me to see if Mike T would think about coming back out and coaching again. That's definitely not happening."

Where do Steelers go in HC search?

That is perhaps the biggest question of the offseason.

Known for their defensive mindset, the Steelers have a chance to buck the trend this offseason and go with an offensive mind. Say, someone like Joe Brady.

But with no quarterback, that would be deemed as a big con in taking on the head coaching role.

Brian Flores is one who continues to see his name be thrown up as a candidate, and that would follow along the defensive lines that have made Pittsburgh famous over the years.

It is a changing of the times for the AFC franchise, and the big question is, will they continue as they have done for years, or is now finally the time to buck the trend?

We eagerly await seeing which direction they go.
