YouTube TV and NBC dispute updates: Latest news and other options to watch NFL, college football & more without service image

Just weeks after resolving a dispute with Fox, YouTube TV now faces a potential standoff with NBC.

On Thursday night, NBC warned that its channels could be pulled from the platform. If the two sides do not reach an agreement by Tuesday, programming could be at risk.

Per Front Office Sports' Eric Fisher, NBC said “YouTube TV has refused the best rates and terms in the market, demanding preferential treatment and seeking an unfair advantage over competitors to dominate the video marketplace — all under the false pretense of fighting for the consumer.”

NBC broadcasts a wide range of sporting events, including college football, the NFL’s Sunday Night Football, and NBA coverage starting in October. If the two sides fail to reach a deal, viewers will need to turn to alternative platforms to watch these events.

YouTube TV also carries this weekend’s Ryder Cup, one of golf’s premier tournaments. Follow along below for the latest updates on the dispute.

YouTube TV and NBC dispute updates

Thursday, September 25

On Thursday night, NBCUniversal said that it may be dropped on YouTube TV if it does not come to a new agreement by Tuesday. The network started running messages for YouTube TV customers alerting them about the impending loss of networks if a deal isn’t reached.

After NBCUniversal released the statement above, YouTube TV responded with the following:

“NBCUniversal is asking us to pay more than what they charge consumers for the same content on Peacock, which would mean less flexibility and higher prices for our subscribers.”

If the NBC channels are blacked out for an extended period of time, YouTube TV will offer a $10 credit for consumers.
