Will Eagles fire Kevin Patullo? Philadelphia's offensive coordinator on the hot seat after wild-card loss image

Fresh off of a Super Bowl triumph, Nick Sirianni and the Eagles attempted to go in-house in the hopes of replacing former offensive coordinator Kellen Moore. The gifted offensive mind parlayed his exploits with Philadelphia into a head-coaching job with the Saints. That left a void in the Eagles' offensive coaching staff, one that was soon filled by one of Sirianni's favorite colleagues: Kevin Patullo.

Patullo, 45, figured to slot seamlessly into Philadelphia's attack. The Eagles had the league's best running back and offensive line, as well as one of its most dynamic collection of pass-catchers. Philadelphia seemed too big to fail.

So, when it did, there was plenty of panic within the Eagles' fanbase. Sirianni's squad limped to an 11-6 record and a first-round exit at the hands of the 49ers, bringing about contempt for those who watched and groaned with each incompletion and failed run attempt.

Their sights were set at Patullo, who formerly served as the team's pass game coordinator and associate head coach.

Will Patullo be sacked as Philly's offensive coordinator in 2026? Here's the latest on his job status following the Eagles' wild-card loss to San Francisco.

MORE EAGLES:

Will Eagles fire Kevin Patullo?

Philadelphia's regular-season struggles had already made Patullo something of a marked man in the eyes of many. Under his stewardship, the Eagles' attack -- which ranked seventh in scoring in 2024 -- slumped to just 22.3 points per contest, the 19th-best mark in the league. Saquon Barkley's production tailed off markedly; he accounted for a little more than half the yardage he accrued last season.

Patullo's offense performed mediocrely throughout the stretch, with Philadelphia failing to eclipse the 20-point total in eight games. Patullo faced much of the blame for the issues, so much so that his house was vandalized following the Eagles' loss to the Bears in Week 13. His affinity for Nick Sirianni, who brought Patullo with him when he was appointed head coach of the Eagles in 2021, is cited as evidence for why he'd stay in the City of Brotherly Love.

But scrutiny built over the course of the season. Sirianni was forced to bat away suggestions that offensive play-calling duties would be taken off of Patullo following Philadelphia's 24-21 loss to the Cowboys.

MORE EAGLES:

The Eagles continued to protect the ball under Patullo's helm and retained their potency in the red zone. But the explosiveness that came to define their 2025 exploits gave way to a lethargy that seeped across the offense.

That was made all the more apparent in Philadelphia's wild-card round loss. Despite forcing two turnovers and dominating the time-of-possession, the Eagles put up a paltry 19 points. Hurts accounted for just 14 rushing yards, lower than any total he put up under Moore in 2024.

Nothing Sirianni has said would suggest a change is imminent. But a wild-card loss represents a major failure for the defending Super Bowl champions. While it's unclear if heads will roll as a result of Philadelphia's early exit, if they do, it's possible that could affect Patullo, too.

Eagles offensive rankings 2025

StatNumberRank
Yards per game311.224th
Points per game22.319th
Passing yards per game194.323rd
Rushing yards per game116.918th

The Eagles' attack looked far more toothless with Patullo in charge compared to Moore. They were pedestrian in most major statistics, falling well short of the marks they recorded in Moore's final season.

Kevin Patullo salary

Patullo's salary has not been publicly revealed. He's likely to fetch a decent penny, though — the average coordinator earned $1 million a year in 2022., according to Front Office Sports.
