We are so close to the start of the 2026 NFL Playoffs, with just one more game left in the regular season.
Every matchup is set for the Wild Card Round, except for the #5 seed Texans, who will play the winner of the Steelers/Ravens SNF game.
With most matchups set, we can expect the schedule for the Wild Card Round to be announced soon
When will the 2026 NFL Wild Card schedule be released?
@TVSportsUpdates posted on X when the schedule was released for the last six wild card rounds:
Recent NFL Wild Card weekend schedule reveal times:
— Sports TV News & Updates (@TVSportsUpdates) January 5, 2026
'24-'25: SNF 1st quarter
'23-'24: SNF halftime
'22-'23: SNF postgame
'21-'22: SNF 3rd quarter
'20-'21: SNF 2nd quarter
'19-'20: SNF postgame
You can likely expect to find out the schedule at some point Sunday night, but the question is when exactly that will be.
Out of the last six seasons, we've only had the announcement come twice before halftime.
If either the Steelers or Ravens jump out to a commanding lead, we could see the announcement come earlier or before the game ends, but it can go either way.
The Texans have played in the 4:30 p.m. Slot on Saturday for the past two postseasons, so if the NFL has already decided that is the case again, we could see the announcement come before the SNF game ends.
*Update at 9:51 p.m. EST
The schedule will be released live during the halftime show of the Steelers/Ravens SNF game on NBC/Peacock.
