The Saints were eyeing the future of their franchise when they selected Tyler Shough in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Shough, an Oregon, Texas Tech and Louisville product, was taken in the second round after becoming one of college football's best quarterbacks the season prior. 

The passer comes from a large family, including his parents, a former police officer and former educator.

Here's a full breakdown of Shough's family, from his wife to his siblings and parents.

Tyler Shough wife: Jordan Shough

Tyler Shough's wife is Jordan Shough. She is a former Oregon soccer player, as the two met when they both represented Ducks athletics. Tyler was at Oregon from 2018-20 before he transferred to Texas Tech.

Jordan Shough told "Women In Flight" in 2023 that it was her parents who inspired her soccer journey. 

"My mom and dad were both college athletes, so it was just what you did in my family," Shough told Women in Flight. "My mom was a soccer player and a coach. I took my first steps on the soccer field, which sounds so cliche, but it's actually what happened. So, it's been in my blood, it's what you do in my family."

While Tyler continued his college career at Texas Tech and Louisville, Jordan graduated from Oregon in 2022. That same year, the couple got engaged.

In 2024, Tyler and Jordan got married in La Jolla, California.

Tyler Shough dog: Murphy

Tyler Shough's dog, Murphy, has even taken the spotlight in the past. When Shough was drafted by New Orleans in 2025, cameras caught Tyler, Jordan and more celebrating as Murphy jumped up to celebrate as well.

Murphy even got some Saints gear on draft night.

Tyler Shough dad: Glenn Shough

Tyler Shough's dad is Glenn Shough. Like his son, Glenn once played college football at Division III school Cal Lutheran, and he is now a retired police officer.

Glenn earned a Master's degree at Arizona State University, and as of 2016, was teaching criminal justice and driver’s education.

Tyler has previously said that it was his dad who inspired him to get one of his two undergraduate degrees from Oregon in criminal justice. His other was in political science.

"I actually did some ride-alongs, maybe wanted to be a federal agent," the quarterback said.

On Father's Day in 2025, Tyler released an ad he recorded that featured his dad for social media.

Tyler Shough mom: Dana Shough

Tyler Shough's mom is Dana Shough. She is a retired teacher who got her bachelor's degree from Arizona State University, later working for Chandler Unified School District.

In 2006, Dana was diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer when Tyler was just 5 years old. In a 2016 article for the East Valley Tribune, she spoke about her experience with cancer, saying she had a "fighter mentality."

"Everybody’s got some sort of issue or story. It’s how you deal with it that defines your character, and everything about you," Dana Shough said. "It’s how you deal with it that defines your character and everything about you."

In 2021, Dana sold breast cancer awareness shirts at Texas Tech, where Tyler was a quarterback at the time. By then, she had been cancer-free for 16 years.

The East Valley Tribune story also detailed that Dana received her Master of Education from NAU.

Tyler Shough sisters

Tyler Shough has two older half-sisters, Beth and Cori.

Beth Serino

One of Tyler's two older half-sisters is Beth Serino. However, there is not much information known about her other than the fact that she lives in the Los Angeles area.

Cori Clausman

The other of Tyler's two older half-sisters is Cori Clausman. She also lives in the Los Angeles area.

Tyler Shough brother: Brady Shough

Tyler Shough's younger brother is Brady Shough, who played football at Northern Arizona University from 2021-23.

Per his roster page, Brady Shough, a defensive back was a political science major, and he appeared in a total of 14 games between 2021 and 2022, including one pick-six. However, in 2023, Brady "exited the team."

Both Tyler and Brady played high school football at Hamilton High School in Arizona.

According to the East Valley Tribune, Tyler also had another brother, whose name is unknown, that died at age 19 around the time that his mother was diagnosed with cancer in 2006.

Where is Tyler Shough from?

Tyler Shough is from Chandler, Arizona. He attended Hamilton High School, where he was friends with MLB star Cody Bellinger, before committing to Oregon in 2017.
