Sports podcasts are at an all-time high in terms of popularity, especially those hosted by athletes themselves. But no podcast is doing it quite like "New Heights."

Travis and Jason Kelce have become two of the most well-known figures in sports over the past few years, with both already being one of the best NFL players at their respective positions prior to then. However, as the brothers have entered into the media space, combined with Travis' high-profile relationship with pop star Taylor Swift, their fame has reached new levels.

On their podcast, Travis and Jason discuss everything from their football careers and current NFL storylines, to their off-the-field endeavors and family. However, when listeners tune into "New Heights," they may hear the Kelce brothers use a term they're not familiar with: "92 percenters."

Why do Travis and Jason Kelce call 'New Heights' fans '92 percenters?'

Throughout episodes of "New Heights," both Travis and Jason will often refer to the podcast's fans as the "92 percenters." It's a nickname that has stuck for the fan group, as it was mentioned in the early podcasts and has remained since.

The term "92 percenters" appears to go back to a time when Jason, a former member of an Eagles team that highly utilized the quarterback sneak, mentioned how effective the play is in short-yardage situations. In a 2023 episode, Jason explained how in situations where one yard is needed in football, no play has a "higher chance" of getting the one yard than a QB sneak.

"It's a 92 percent chance. There is not one play in the playbook that has a higher percent chance of working than a QB sneak," Kelce said.

According to the "New Heights Merch" site, the "92 percent of the time thing became a joke among fans," leading to the fan group's nickname, the "92 percenters."

That nickname has led to everything from Jason and Travis calling out the fan base by its name, to merch that mentions the "92 percenters."
