Sean McVay has been one of the most successful coaches in the league since taking over as the Los Angeles Rams head coach, but his success hasn't traveled to Chicago.
McVay and the Rams organization have not been able to win when playing the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field in recent memory. In fact, the Rams' struggles in Chicago date back well before the team moved to Los Angeles, when they were known as the St. Louis Rams.
This team doesn't play many games in cold weather, while the Bears are much more familiar with cold-weather football. Here's a breakdown of the Rams' recent history in Chicago.

Rams record in Chicago
In 47 games overall, the Rams are just 14-31-2 against the Bears in Chicago. That includes a winless record since moving back to Los Angeles from St. Louis, and a four-game losing streak in Chicago since 2003.
In that span of over two decades, seven matchups between the Rams and the Bears came in either St. Louis or Los Angeles, with the Rams serving as the home team. The only four matchups that weren't in Chicago since the Rams' last win there came 2009, 2012, 2018 and 2024.

Sean McVay record in Chicago
Since becoming the Rams head coach in 2017, Sean McVay is 0-2 in two games in Chicago against the Bears.
First, McVay lost to the Bears on the road in 2018 in what became a battle of two of the top teams in the league. On December 9, 2018, the tough Bears defense held the Rams to just six points on "Sunday Night Football" while forcing quarterback Jared Goff to throw four interceptions.
At the time, the Rams came into Chicago at 11-1 and had previously scored at least 29 points in every game. Los Angeles finished the season with a 13-3 record, while the Bears were 12-4 after the season ended.

Although the Rams went on a three-game winning streak against the Bears after that game, all three matchups were in Los Angeles. The Rams didn’t return to Chicago until 2024, when the Bears beat them in Caleb Williams’ fourth career game.
This matchup took place in September, allowing the Rams to avoid some brutal weather, but the Bears still came out on top. It was a low-scoring affair early, with the Bears’ defense holding the Rams to just one touchdown, while Caleb Williams led Chicago to two second-half scores.
