The NFC West entered Week 11 with three teams fighting for the chance to win the division, as the Los Angeles Rams, Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers all have their eyes on the playoffs.
This week also marked the first matchup of the year between the Rams and Seahawks, two teams that are considered among the elites in the league this year. In the end, Los Angeles came out on top as Sam Darnold threw five interceptions to the Rams' stifling defense.
In the other battle of NFC West foes, the 49ers blew out the Arizona Cardinals on the road in Brock Purdy's return to sweep the season series. Purdy is an X-factor for this division, as he has played in just three of the 49ers' 11 games so far this season.
After a crucial Sunday in the NFC West, here's a look at how the division stands.

NFC West standings

The Rams win over the Seahawks gives Los Angeles sole possession of first place in the NFC West with a temporary tiebreaker over Seattle. Meanwhile, the 49ers move within 0.5 games of the Seahawks, but Seattle still has one extra game remaining compared to San Francisco.
Finally, the Cardinals are now 0-4 on the season against NFC West opponents, which should clear the way for them to finish in last place.

The Rams remaining schedule includes one matchup against the Seahawks and tough in-conference battles with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Carolina Panthers and Detroit Lions. Los Angeles also has yet to face the Cardinals this year.
Los Angeles gets the advantage of a softer close to the year compared to its rivals, since the Cardinals and Atlanta Falcons have a combined three wins this season.

The Seahawks have already played the Cardinals twice this year, but they have one game each remaining against the Rams and 49ers. Additionally, Seattle has a difficult game late in the year against the 8-2 Indianapolis Colts.
Seattle's schedule has many landmines, including back-to-back games on the road against playoff-caliber teams to end the season.

The 49ers have just one divisional game remaining on the schedule, a Week 18 matchup hosting the Seahawks. Besides that, San Francisco still has to play the Colts and Chicago Bears before the season ends.
Of the three teams, the 49ers have perhaps the toughest end to the year, which means they need to take advantage of their soft spots.
