One of the biggest storylines in the NFL as of late has been the resurgence of longtime  quarterback Joe Flacco.

The veteran is suddenly (and unexpectedly) powering the way to a Browns postseason run.

Here's everything to know about Flacco's age, background, career and the types of numbers he has posted throughout the years as he's now on his fourth NFL team, becoming something of a journeyman after spending his first 11 seasons in Baltimore.

How old is Joe Flacco?

Flacco is one of the older quarterbacks still taking the field in the NFL.

He was born on January 16, 1985 in Audubon, New Jersey, making him 38 years old. He is one of five sons born to Karen and Steve Flacco. He played out his college football career at Delaware after transferring in from Pittsburgh.

Oldest NFL players in 2023

It's no surprise Flacco is among the oldest players to have taken the field in the NFL this season. He ranks in the top 10 in that category and is the second-oldest quarterback who has played this year, behind only Aaron Rodgers.

Joe Flacco stats 2023

Flacco was signed to the Browns on Nov. 20 as the team looked for a temporary fix due to injury issues at quarterback, but it's easy to get the sense Flacco could be sticking around in Cleveland.

Flacco has earned a good deal of recognition for the type of success he has had in Cleveland, most recently nominated for FedEX Air Player Of The Week for Week 16.

He started off the Week 16 victory over the Texans with a bang, hitting wide receiver Amari Cooper for a 53-yard completion on the first drive of the game. He and Cooper kept the chemistry going, connecting with Cooper once again for a pair of touchdowns -- one for 75 yards and another for seven yards.

He finished out that 36-22 victory 27-of-42 passing for 368 yards with three touchdowns. It's the third consecutive win Flacco has been at the helm of the Browns for, winning every game but one since he's been with the team.

Flacco has been money through the air, currently the only Browns player in history to throw for 350 yards in consecutive games.

Joe Flacco career stats

Flacco started at quarterback for the Ravens from 2008 to the middle of the 2018 season.

He's accomplished a number of significant things throughout his career in the postseason, helping the Ravens clinch a playoff berth six times. With Flacco taking the snaps, Baltimore won the AFC North two times and played in three AFC Championship Games.

He was also named the MVP for Super Bowl 47 after he completed 22 of 33 passes for 287 yards with three touchdowns as the Ravens beat the 49ers.

Despite all of this and what he's but on the stat sheet, Flacco has never been named to a Pro Bowl.

Here's a look at Flacco's stats over the course of his career.
