Jake Browning fiancee: Stephanie Niles

Browning's fiancee, Stephanie Niles, was born in Hong Kong, but her family moved to the United States in 2005.

Browning began dating Niles while they were both attending the University of Washington. Niles graduated from the school with a B.A. degree in accounting and information systems, and as Browning made his way to the NFL, Niles co-founded her own swimwear company, 7th Street Swim.

After graduating from college, Niles moved to New York City to work for an accounting firm, but pivoted to co-founding her own company in 2020. In 2023, Browning detailed some of his relationship with Niles over an anniversary post on Instagram.

"Remember when we agreed we weren’t going to date? Or when we finally started dating we agreed we were going to break up when you moved to NYC in 2018…? 5 years, 4 different time zones and 14 different moves later here we are," he wrote. "Whether it’s a fancy dinner party or a dive bar in Folsom, you move through life with a contagious energy and I can’t imagine where’d I’d be without my mob wife."

Then, after about six years of dating, Browning proposed to Niles in November of 2024.

Viral moments

Niles frequently goes viral online for the creative outfits that she wears to Bengals games while supporting Browning.

Jake Browning dad: Ed Browning

Browning comes from a football family, primarily through his father. Ed Browning played quarterback at Oregon State from 1987 to 1991. In his college career, Ed played in 14 total games over three seasons and produced just 527 passing yards, four touchdowns and five interceptions.

Jake credits Ed for balancing being his father with also being a football mentor.

"He's just been someone I could go to my entire life," Jake said, via the University of Washington. "Growing up, before I even started playing football, he was always there for me, whether it was a school issue, anything that came up, he had a good way to respond to it."

As for Ed, he said he made sure to give Jake the room to grow while also supporting him.

"It's just always being there for your kid," he said. "There were some times when we got in our fair share of fights, times when I didn't want to do something. He didn't budge on anything. It was his way, and that's how it's going to go. He gave me the freedom to make my own mistakes, but also taught me things I can learn from, maybe mistakes he made or things he's seen."

Jake Browning mom

Browning's mom left when he was young, meaning his father was a single dad for most of his life. While Ed Browning later re-married, Jake doesn't have much of a relationship with his birth mom.

In 2016, Pat Forde, then of Yahoo Sports, asked Browning about why he doesn't talk to his mom, and Browning gave a simple answer.

"Just the way it is," he said.
