Jaire Alexander contract details: Former Packers defensive back joins Ravens secondary image

Jaire Alexander has signed a one-year, $6 million deal with the Ravens, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The former Packers defensive back was released by the team on June 9, after the two sides could not come to a deal on a restructured contract. He now joins his former Louisville teammate, Lamar Jackson, in Baltimore.

Alexander is a two-time All-Pro selection who missed most of last season with a knee injury. He will be added to a Ravens secondary that includes Pro Bowlers Marlon Humphrey and Kyle Hamilton.

  • Team: Ravens
  • Years: 1
  • Value: $6 million

This will be Alexander's third contract in the NFL, after he signed with the Packers as a rookie and then received one extension. It will be a one-year deal worth up to $6 million.

Alexander signed a four-year rookie contract worth $12 million between 2018 and 2022. He then signed a four-year, $84 million rookie extension in 2022, but he was released after three seasons.

After his knee injury last season, Alexander was only able to secure a one-year deal with Baltimore. If he has a bounce back year, he could be seeking a new deal come 2026.

Alexander established himself as one of the best defensive backs in the NFL early in his career, and by 2020, was selected to his first Pro Bowl and was named a second-team All Pro. In 2022, he appeared in all 16 games and had a career-high five interceptions.

In 2023 however, Alexander missed significant time with back and shoulder injuries, and he was suspended for one game for representing the team as a captain without permission before a Week 16 game against the Panthers. The defensive back also injured his knee in 2024 and missed Green Bay's final 10 games.

Jaire Alexander career earnings

As a Packers first-round pick in 2018, Alexander earned $12 million over his first four seasons. He signed a four-year, $84 million extension in 2022 and played on that contract for three seasons, raising his career earnings number to more than $72 million, according to Spotrac.

Alexander is now reportedly set to make $6 million if he hits all of his incentives, but he likely has his eyes set on securing a long-term deal in 2026 if he performs well for the Ravens.
