The NFL has long wanted to make its international games a full-body experience. Matches aren’t merely contested to determine a winner or loser. They are vehicles to sell the sport — and its host country.

The spectacle is an enchanting one, filled with color and fireworks. Those dynamics go beyond the gridiron, too. They are reflected in a game’s production value — from its choreography to its soundtrack.

The Minnesota Vikings and Cleveland Browns will meet in London in Week 5, hoping to leave their marks before a raucous Tottenham Hotspur Stadium crowd. They’ll be joined by a local act who draws plenty of interest in her own right: famed British singer and songwriter Raye.

With that, here’s what you need to know about Raye’s upcoming performance in Sunday’s game.

Is there a Vikings-Browns halftime show?

There is, indeed, a halftime show for the Vikings and Browns’ London clash. The matchup’s halftime period will be soundtracked by Raye, a British songstress who came to prominence in 2023 after releasing her debut studio album, "My 21st Century Blues."

Raye’s tape garnered widespread acclaim. She claimed a record six prizes at the 2024 Brit Awards, including British Artist of the Year. She was also nominated for three Grammys, becoming the first artist ever simultaneously nominated for Best New Artist and Songwriter of the Year (Non-Classical).

“I’m very grateful to the NFL for inviting me and the band to perform during this halftime show,” Raye said of the opportunity. “Hopefully we can provide a memorable and entertaining moment for the crowd and viewers at home.”

In addition to her plaudits as a solo artist, Raye has also enjoyed a sterling career as a songwriter, penning tunes for Beyoncé, Charli XCX, John Legend and Little Mix, among other acts. She’ll look to showcase her myriad talents during her 13-minute set in front of her fellow Londoners.

MORE NFL WEEK 5:

Who is Raye?

Raye, born Rachel Keen, is a London native whose musical career has caught the ear of fans and critics alike.

Raised in a musical family, Raye found her voice in the church. She performed at Southwark Cathedral as a child and landed a spot in the prestigious BRIT School, spending much of her free time as a teenager writing ditties.

Raye started her professional career in earnest after dropping out of school, uploading her first few records to SoundCloud. She caught the attention of some local artists, facilitating collaborations with high-profile acts like Avelino, Charli XCX and Rita Ora.

After plumbing the London music scene for the better part of a half-decade, Raye hit the mainstream with her 2023 release, "My 21st Century Blues." The project represents a mirror through which Raye expresses her doubts and despair.

"I’m just very proud of this body of work," Raye told Dork in 2023. "I know it’s a bit disjointed, and there’s no sonic through-line, but it’s my little mosaic of stories I collected, and I want to share.”

"My 21st Century Blues" was a massive success, debuting as No. 2 on the UK Albums Chart. The project's lead single, "Escapism", went viral on TikTok and has amassed more than a billion streams on Spotify.

Critics were similarly entranced, praising Raye for her artistic direction and thoughtful lyrics. She was summarily awarded more than a dozen prizes for her performance on the album.

Raye released her latest single, "Where Is My Husband", in Sept. 2025. She is expected to release her second studio album in 2026.
