Fantasy Football in the AFC South: Play or Stay- Week 3 image

Play or Stay, Week 3 is upon us. This week, we have two AFC South matchups against each other. Let’s see who should play and who should stay on the bench.

Elic Ayomanor, WR, Tennessee Titans- Play

Elic continues to grow with each game the Titans play. In the last one, he scored his first touchdown, along with a couple of outstanding receptions. In this game, versus a Colts defense that sends people from all angles to the quarterback, there will be plays to be had. It is just a matter of whether Cameron Ward can find Elic and he seemed to have no problem finding him last game. Play Ayomanor this week.

Tony Poillard, RB, Tennessee Titans- Stay

The Titans' running back had a solid game versus the Rams in Week 2, totaling 92 yards on 20 carries. This week, he sees DeForest Buckner in the tackle box and that could spell trouble not only for him, but for the interior offensive line of the Titans, potentially. So temper down the expectations for Pollard in this one. You may want to have him sit on the bench.

Michael Pittman Jr., WR, Indianapolis Colts, Stay

With Daniel Jones, Pittman Jr. has made some plays, but he has not been the top weapon; that title belongs to someone else on the Colts offense. Pittman will make some receptions in this one, but I'm not sure the impact will be as much to be a fantasy football difference-maker. Might want to keep him on the bench in this one.

Tyler Warren, TE, Indianapolis Colts- Play

When you face the Colts' offense, you start with running back Jonathan Taylor. Then, when you consider their receiving weapons, you have to start with the rookie tight end Tyler Warren. The Colts utilize him everywhere, which could be especially challenging for the Titans' defense to handle. Warren has had a remarkably strong start as a rookie.

Nico Collins, WR, Houston Texans- Play

Nico Collins got involved more last week versus Tampa Bay, but he did not carry the momentum all the way through the game. In this one, Collins has some defensive backs who could make life hard in the Jaguars' defensive back corps. Don’t sit him, play him. The Jaguars' defense has shown they can give up points to talented offenses.

Brian Thomas Jr., WR, Jacksonville Jaguars- Stay

Brian Thomas Jr. had high hopes coming into this season. Unfortunately, he has not reached the level people expected him to achieve at the start of the season. And although he may do so in time, he has a tough one in facing Derek Stingley Jr. and the Texans' secondary. He may get going, but this is not the week it happens.

Travis Etienne, RB, Jacksonville Jaguars- Play

Etienne has been solid for two weeks of the season. In their last game, the Texans did not perform as well as they could against the run. Is it the scheme of the other team or is it just the Texans’ run defense? We will find out which one it is this week as Etienne and the Jaguars host the Houston Texans.
