The Atlanta Falcons and Indianapolis Colts are headed overseas this week, as the NFL returns to Germany.
The NFL has had many international games in the earlier part of the season, and after a brief hiatus, the league returns to Germany. The Colts bring their 7-2 record, tied for the best in the NFL, while the Falcons are looking to turn their season around at 3-5.
International games always present a different set of challenges, but these teams should give German football fans a good game between squads looking to make the playoffs. Here's a breakdown of why the NFL is once again headed back to Germany.

Why is Falcons vs. Colts being played in Germany?
As the NFL continues to schedule more games internationally, the Falcons and Colts will represent the league this year in Germany. Outside of the United States, the NFL has played games in England, Ireland, and Brazil, and also has a game scheduled in Spain later this month.
This matchup is the latest effort by the NFL to grow its game globally. It will be the league’s fifth game in Germany over the last four seasons, but this contest will take place in Berlin, rather than Munich or Frankfurt.

When the Colts and Falcons match up on Sunday morning, they will do so at Olympic Stadium in Berlin, Germany. This will be the fifth game in NFL history played in Germany, but the first to take place in the country's capital.
The Colts, who played in Germany just two years ago, will serve as the designated home team, meaning they will play one fewer game in Indianapolis this year.
