Drake Maye stats: Quarterback continues MVP season as Patriots crush Giants image

Drake Maye added onto his MVP campaign on "Monday Night Football," where the New England Patriots dominated the New York Giants, 33-15.

Against the Giants, Maye had two touchdowns in the first half, finishing with 282 yards and the two scores on the night as the Patriots defeated New York, 33-15.

In only his second year in the NFL, Maye is continuing to establish himself as one of the league's best quarterbacks. New England now sits atop of the AFC at 11-2 heading into the bye week.

Maye had another stellar performance against the Giants. With the two touchdowns, he is up to 23 passing touchdowns on the season.

After tonight's performance, Maye leads the NFL in passing yards through 13 weeks. His 23 touchdowns also puts him fourth in the league, behind Matthew Stafford (32), Dak Prescott (25) and Jared Goff (25). He's right ahead of Patrick Mahomes, who has 22.

The Patriots offense opened the game with a field goal, then a Marcus Jones punt return gave them a 10-0 lead.

After the Giants punted, Maye and the Patriots offense got going. He had a 36-yard completion to Hunter Henry, which took New England down to the Giants three, then scored on a Kayshon Boutte fade route.

With the game 17-7, the Giants had a chance to cut the deficit to one possession. But, when they didn't — Younghoe Koo botched a field goal operation -- Maye made them pay. The drive ended in a beautiful 33-yard score to rookie Kyle Williams.

At the end of the half, Maye led a four-play, 67-yard drive that lasted just over a minute. It added onto the Patriots halftime lead, which is 30-7.

New England had five scores on six drives in the first half. 

Though Maye and the Patriots did not light up the scoreboard in the second half, he had an efficient half en route to a win. Maye exited the field to MVP chants, and according to DraftKings is the favorite to win MVP.
