Brock Purdy stats today: 49ers QB dominates in 'SNF' thriller vs. Bears image

With the San Francisco 49ers' pursuit of the No. 1 seed on the line, Brock Purdy answered the call.

Purdy overcame the absences of George Kittle and Trent Williams to put together a terrific performance in a 42-38 win over the Chicago Bears on "Sunday Night Football," a week after he threw five touchdown passes in a win over the Indianapolis Colts.

The night started with a deflating interception for Purdy, which the Bears turned into a pick-six to deal the 49ers an early blow, but once San Francisco's offense got going, it was Chicago that had to keep answering Purdy's blows.

Here's a look at Purdy's impressive night against the Bears.

  • Comp. Rate: 72.7% (24/33)
  • Pass yards: 303
  • Pass TD: 3
  • INT: 1
  • Passer rating: 118.6
  • Rush att.: 6
  • Rush yards: 28

Purdy finished 24-of-33 for 303 yards, five total touchdowns and one interception against the Bears, throwing three touchdown passes and running for two more after his early interception.

While Purdy certainly wanted to have that initial turnover back, it might have fueled him. The 49ers quarterback led six scoring drives, five of which ended with a touchdown he was involved in, and he answered when the Bears took the lead in the fourth quarter, taking San Francisco down the field for the game-winning score with 2:15 remaining.

After accounting for six touchdowns over his previous three games, Purdy has amassed 10 touchdowns over his last two games for a couple of massive 49ers wins.

The pressure will be back on Purdy in Week 18, when the 49ers will be looking for a win over the Seattle Seahawks to capture the NFC West and No. 1 seed. If he plays like he has these last two weeks, San Francisco is set up well for a first-round bye.

Brock Purdy fantasy points

Purdy might have been a league-winner for some fantasy football managers. He posted 37.92 standard fantasy points in Sunday's win, giving desperate teams a late boost out of the quarterback position.

Whether it was his five-touchdown performance against the Colts in Week 16 or his five-touchdown night against the Bears, owners of the 49ers quarterback who weathered his injury-riddled first half of the season were rewarded if they reached the playoffs.
