Brock Purdy has lived a charmed life since the 49ers selected him with the final pick of the 2022 NFL Draft.
San Francisco’s quarterback took the reins of Kyle Shanahan’s offense with five games left in his rookie season. He has held that role with an iron grip ever since, earning Pro Bowl honors and down-ballot MVP votes during a standout 2023.
Purdy doesn’t have a long list of postseason appearances, but his team has found success throughout his burgeoning career.
Here’s a look at Purdy’s postseason record and statistics.

Purdy was named San Francisco’s starter partway through the 2022 season. He has made two postseason appearances during his still-budding career, helping lead the 49ers on deep playoff runs both times.
As a rookie, Purdy starred under center as the Niners advanced to the NFC Championship Game. San Francisco looked well-equipped to challenge the Eagles, but Purdy suffered a torn UCL in his throwing elbow on the game’s opening drive. He stayed in the contest and completed a few short throws, but he couldn’t stretch the field, allowing Philadelphia to stack the box against Niners tailback Christian McCaffrey. San Francisco lost, 31-7.
Purdy and the 49ers bounced back in 2023, defeating the Packers and Lions to reach their second Super Bowl of the Kyle Shanahan era. San Francisco couldn’t pull off another miracle, though, falling in overtime to the Chiefs, 25-22. Purdy finished the game 23-of-38 passing for 255 yards, one touchdown, and no sacks.
All told, Purdy is 4-2 in his playoff career.

Still, he has done a good job keeping turnovers at a minimum. Purdy sports the lowest interception rate (0.6%) in league history among players who have attempted at least 120 playoff passes.
Purdy's six passing touchdowns ranks 14th among active players. That figure is likely to grow in the years to come, although it will take some time to surpass the likes of Patrick Mahomes (46) and Aaron Rodgers (45).
