Jets' Justin Fields reveals 'points goal' ahead of Bills showdown image

Justin Fields and the New York Jets offense will walk into their Week 2 matchup against Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills knowing they will have to score a lot of points to win.

After hanging 32 on the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 1 and losing, the Jets did show that they can move the ball and score touchdowns regularly, but it will be a different beast going up against the Bills.

Scoring 20 points won't get it done against Joe Brady's offense, so the Jets' game plan from Tanner Engstrand might be a little different than it was against the Steelers.

As for Fields, he knows what the offense as a whole must do on Sunday, and it's a relatively simple thing.

“We're always ready to put up a lot of points, but our goal is to put up one more point than them on Sunday, so that's all that matters,” Fields said.

Is Fields' Jets goal obtainable vs. Bills?

Given how easily the Baltimore Ravens gashed Buffalo's defense on the ground and through the air, the Jets might be quietly confident that they can cause an upset at MetLife.

Breece Hall was a menace against Pittsburgh, rushing for 107 yards and averaging 5.7 yards per carry, so more of the same will be needed. Buffalo gave up 238 rushing yards to Derrick Henry and Co., while also allowing 40 points, so there is a clear way New York can attack McDermott's defense.

Score one more point. That's all the Jets have to do against the Bills, and while it seems simple enough, we know that is far from the case.

But can they do it?
